Viva La Difference!
Money is one of those things which makes us self-conscious. It does not matter if you have a lot, a little, or some amount in between. Social etiquette teaches us that it is just not polite to talk about it, especially if everyone involved in the conversation does not have similar financial resources. As a result, I believe most people have no idea how to compare themselves financially to others and their money makes them feel uncomfortable. Most people believe that they would feel better about their finances if they had more money, but that is not true. Over twenty years of having candid conversations with people about their money has taught me that even the wealthy are uncomfortable with money because of the responsibility which accompanies the wealth. In other words, people with money are afraid of making a mistake.
At DV Financial, the mission is to make our clients comfortable with their money and that approach permeates everything we do. For example, you will never catch us in formal attire like suits and ties. A well-tailored suit is sharp and crisp, but would it make our clients more comfortable or perhaps be a bit intimidating? We have taken the same approach with our office space. Instead of investing in a fancy office with shiny trim and a prestigious address, we chose an office which is clean, nice, and professional. Once again we wondered if polished brass and marble floors made people feel at ease. When you arrive, we will always offer you a beverage. If we don't have your favorite drink, we will the next time you are here.
But it goes beyond the obvious. We are small agile and responsive. We don't have "corporate policies"; we do our best to respond to every client's wishes and desires. We spend the time to get to know our clients because some financial goals cannot be quantified with a calculator. We are independent which means we represent our clients and not any particular financial company or product.
In short, DV Financial is different and our clients are glad we are. We are too.
