We’re Here for All the Generations of Your Family

At DV Financial, we make the complex simple and help families thrive for generations. You’ve been sent this video because someone who cares about you, your parent, is someone we work with. And they would like for us to get to know each other now rather than during a sad, difficult, and stressful time. I whole-heartedly agree with them and I’m excited for the opportunity to get to know you.

Why is it important for us to start building a relationship with you?

To begin with, we can shed some light on your parents’ situation, which is key to successful planning for the future of the whole family. Let’s set up a meeting with everyone involved. This can be anything from a casual chat over coffee to a formal sit down in our conference room. 

We can set the agenda to skim the surface or do a ‘deep dive’ discussion about their estate plan. The format and discussion will only involve what you and your parents are most comfortable with.

It’s important for you to know who we are, along with your family’s other trusted professionals such as the attorney and accountant. And we encourage families to discuss whether a will or trust has been set up and where those documents can be found. It can be a comfort to know what your parents wishes are, and what happens next, if something happens to them.

And if those plans aren’t determined yet, that becomes the point of the discussion. We want to make sure beneficiaries are up to date and accounts are titled properly with Transfer On Death, or TOD, designations. The TOD form is simple, avoids probate, and facilitates transferring assets to the next generation quickly.

My Mom passed away a few years ago. I know firsthand the losses we all experience eventually. Nothing can take away the pain and sorrow, yet I was able to take comfort knowing that a plan was in place, with a power of attorney and a healthcare proxy, and we knew what my mother wanted. Hard decisions became easier, and she passed peacefully.
